Welcome to the Drenwal Wiki![]

Drenwal is a world setting I created for D&D 5e. It started out as a single map of a city for a game I wanted to run for some coworkers. But like anything else in life, I find a way to overcomplicate the simple things, especially where cartography and world-building are involved. I had a city, but that city needed to be placed in a continent somewhere, and that continent was obviously only one of many, all of which had joint and individual histories, worshiped a pantheon, yada yada . . . and thus was born the Lands of Drenwal as you see them before you. I'm constantly adding more things to the map, and it's about halfway done now so I wanted to share.

Growing up, my parents were adamantly opposed to Dungeons & Dragons, Ghostbusters, and all of the other heavily occult influences of the 80s and 90s. I did, however, grow up reading Forgotten Realms novels since my folks didn't know it was a setting for D&D. And my friends and I invented our own fantasy RPG based off of West End Games' d6 system from the Star Wars RPG.

Drenwal is a fairly standard medieval, high-fantasy setting, akin to the Forgotten Realms in most respects. Feel free to browse around and leave feedback, and if you're one of my players, please go ahead and add to/correct any of these pages as you see fit, and add more pages as you think of them. The world is as much yours as it is mine. 🌐 Even if it is a flat world, John. Suck it.
